Yes, such a heartfelt tribute that allowed me to picture her and imagine knowing her. Thank you for sharing and leading me to want to be like her! Be relaxed and move through stressful times with perspective. May we all strive for a merry heart.
It's something I personally struggle with (choosing joy despite difficult circumstances), so I wrote this for myself as much as anyone else. I'm glad it resonated with you!
This brought me to tears! What a lovely tribute. This is what my children will say of my mother. My prayer lately has been that this is what my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will say of me. As I inch closer and closer to 50, I realize how lovely an ordinary life truly is. I think of that Chesterton quote, “The most extraordinary thing in the world is an ordinary man and an ordinary woman and their ordinary children.” My prayer is that we glorify God in our ordinariness. What a lovely lady your Grandmother was! How blessed we are to have such women in our lives.
Oh, Shannon, this is such a beautiful and moving tribute to your grandmother — and also a stirring inspiration to us all to embrace the light, hold onto our faith, and remember that it’s the little things that endure. Thank you for sharing your grandmother with us. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
What a tribute! What a life! The older I grow, the more I am compelled by Proverbs 31:25—“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.” With all of the opportunities in life to harbor bitterness, fear, betrayal, and such, a woman who knows how to laugh is such a delight in this world. Thank you for sharing your grandmother with us, Shannon. She sounds like such an admirable woman.
This was wonderful to read, and of a wonderful person who lived. Thank you so much. I have taken a message I needed from it and now, many people are realizing that is how to live.
Shannon! Wow. This is so beautifully written. When I asked Mike what he would remember most about his Grandma, he also talked about her laugh. ❤️
It would be fun to put this into a photo book with pictures of Grandma and you to have on a shelf for your kids to read. Maybe a copy on family search? It so perfectly portrays the memories. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your kind words as always, Elizabeth!
I never knew my grandmothers, but I imagine them in this way and try to leave a legacy near this for my grands. Well done Shannon.
Your grandchildren are blessed to have you! Thanks for reading :)

Thank you so much, Jane. It is wonderful how each of our lives has the power to impact so many lives around us, even if we have never met!
What a wonderful tribute. Thanks for sharing. It brought back the great memories of my grandmother.
Grandmothers are some of the very best people!

Thanks for the kind words, Kaylee. And what a lovely idea to put it into a printed book with photos for my kids to look through!
